Michael Posner (born February 12, 1988) is an American singer, songwriter, and producer. Posner released his debut album, 31 Minutes to Takeoff, on August 10, 2010. The album includes the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 single “Cooler Than Me”, as well as his second single, “Please Don’t Go”.

Working with Don Cannon and DJ Benzi, Posner released his second mixtape, A Matter of Time (the first mixtape being Reflections of a Lost Teen), from his dorm room at Duke University in March 2009. In July 2009, Posner signed a deal with J Records (RCA/Sony).[8] He chose to return to Duke after signing his record deal, and toured on the weekends while at the same time recording for his debut album. Posner’s second mixtape One Foot Out the Door, hosted by Clinton Sparks, was released on October 27, 2009. The mixtape was accompanied by a web series also entitled One Foot Out the Door which aired bi-weekly from September 30, 2009 until December 2009. During this time, he hired his manager, Daniel Weisman of Elitaste Inc., who also manages Wale.

31 Minutes to Takeoff, his debut album was released on August 10, 2010. The first single from the album, “Cooler Than Me”, produced by Gigamesh, climbed the Billboard Hot 100 to reach No. 6 before going on to attain global success. He performed at Bonnaroo and the 2010 Warped Tour in the summer. A second single, “Please Don’t Go”, was issued on July 20, 2010.

Posner performed on national television for the first time on the talk show Last Call with Carson Daly on Tuesday, 27 October 2009. He also performed his song “Cooler Than Me” on America’s Got Talent on July 28, 2010. He also performed at John Barleycorn in Schaumburg, Illinois, on July 31, on Live with Regis and Kelly on August 3, and on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on August 4. He performed “Cooler Than Me” on The Wendy Williams Show on August 5, 2010, and on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on August 9, 2010. Mike Posner has collaborated with artists like Kid Cudi, Wale, Big Sean, Bun B, One Be Lo, Eric Holljes, and 3OH!3.

Minaj was born to parents of Indian and Afro Trinidadian descent. She lived in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago with her grandmother until age five when she moved to the Queens borough of New York City. Book Far East Movement Biography:

The original members of Far East Movement, Kevin Nishimura, James Roh and Jae Choung, grew up in Koreatown, Los Angeles, California. They were close companions in high school and shared a passion for music together. The trio promoted their music online and began performing at local clubs and events in Los Angeles; soon, they began their musical career with the name “Emcee’s Anonymous” by 2001. However, they later changed it to Far East Movement or FM, originating from a song that they produced with the same name. In 2003, they organized together an event called “Movementality” in Koreatown, LA, featuring ten different performances with all the proceeds sent to a local youth drug rehabilitation center.

Their first album called Folk Music was released in early 2006. The single “Round Round” was featured in the film, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, appearing both on the soundtrack and video game. This critical breakout was the catalyst that cemented their decision to pursue music as a full-time career. They proceeded to perform on two world tours (including USA, South America, Canada, and Asia), and they signed distribution deals in Japan and Korea with Avex Network and JF Productions for their album. Their songs continued to be shown in the media and TV networks including VH1, MTV and E!. In 2007, they were featured in the Sundance Film Festival film called Finishing the Game, making the song “Satisfaction” for the film. They also released the single “You’ve Got A Friend” featuring Lil Rob and Baby Bash, which became their first song on major national radio.

LA’s radio station Power 106 DJ, DJ Virman, came to the group as their official DJ. They released another single titled “Lowridin” that received heavy airplay in 2008. Soon after, they planned on showcasing a second album, releasing Animal later on in the same year. Animal featured three hit singles that frequently won national radio play: “You’ve Got A Friend”, “Lowridin”, and the successful “Girls On The Dance Floor.” Girls on the Dance Floor reached 27th on the Billboard chart for the Latin Rhythm Airplay, which marked their debut on the Billboard’s charts.

There were several collaborations on the Animal Album, including The Stereotypes, Lil Rob, Baby Bash, Bruno Mars, Wiz Khalifa, Bionik, 24/8, IZ, DB Tonik, and Jah Free. Their songs from the Animal album were featured in major film and television on multiple occasions. FM’s single “Girls on the Dance Floor” has been played on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew on the Season 4 Finale during a performance with Artistry In Motion, Vogue Evolution and We Are Heroes. It was also featured on Get Him to the Greek, FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance and on the 7th episode of CSI: Miami Season 8. In addition, “Dance Like Michael Jackson” was aired on ABC Family’s Lincoln Heights on November 10, 2009 and on the Gossip Girl episode, “Dan de Fleurette”. “I Party” was highlighted on FOX’s TV series Lie To Me and “Fetish” was on Spike TV’s Guy’s Choice Awards 2009. “Girls on the Dance Floor” has attained over 5 million hits on Myspace while attracting over 1 million views on Youtube.

In 2009, they were one of the prominent acts in L.A.’s Powerhouse 106 concert with well-known artists such as Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Sean Paul, New Boyz, Pitbull, Lil Jon, LMFAO, Ya Boy, Flo Rida, and The Black Eyed Peas. Popular streetwear company, Orisue, had teamed up with Far East Movement and helped shoot a music video for “Lowridin”. In May 2009, Far East Movement joined the well-known hip hop group from Korea, Epik High, on their “Map the Soul” tour throughout the U.S. Then they held their first headlining concert at the Roxy Theater in Hollywood by July 2009, which resulted in a sold-out show. Together with Wong Fu Productions, FM has established another three sold-out “International Secret Agents” concerts titled as “ISA”, hosted in San Francisco LA, and New York in order to promote Asian American artists in the media with performances by Quest Crew, Poreotics, Jay Park and others.

FM’s new mixtape named Party Animal was released on the first date of the Party Rock Tour (featuring FM, LMFAO, Shwayze, Paradiso Girls, Space Cowboy and more). Their two singles, “Girls on the Dance Floor” and “2 is Better w/ Ya Boy”, have been garnering successful radio airplay. They later announced that they are working on a new album with Grammy nominated producers, The Stereotypes, who had produced their hit track, Girls on the Dance Floor.

In February 2010, Far East Movement signed a major record deal with Rush Rules Records and Cherrytree Records, a subsidiary of Interscope Records. They are currently managed by Ted Chung of Stampede Management, who is also the President of Doggystyle Records.

Progressing further along in the same year, the group supported Robyn and Kelis on their double headlining tour along with Dan Black, in addition to being announced as the opening act of Lady Gaga’s tour on the Japanese leg of The Monster Ball Tour. Furthermore, their previous hit track, Girls on the Dancefloor & Fetish, was featured in Piranha 3D, yet it was not slotted into the film’s soundtrack.

Their 2010 “ISA” shows in LA and New York were held on September 5 and August 28 respectively. They performed their songs alongside acts by AJ Rafael, Jay Park, Poreotics and Quest Crew (both winners from America’s Best Dance Crew), David Choi, Jennifer Chung, David Garibaldi, Lydia Paek (of Quest Crew), and more. Both of the shows were hosted by Lydia Paek, Kevin Wu and Ryan Higa.

Starting from September 13, the group will be kicking off the Up In The Air Tour with Mike Posner, which spans across various cities in North America.

Free Wired is the title of their first major debut album from Cherrytree/Interscope Records and was released on October 12, 2010. The album was available in both the U.S. and Canada. Their tracks include popular artists such as Keri Hilson, Lil Jon, Snoop Dogg (their song co-written by Bruno Mars), Mohombi, Colette Carr, Natalia Kills, and Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic.Their first single to be released for airplay is called “Rocketeer”, which will exclusively feature Ryan Tedder.

As of September 29, 2010, their latest single featuring The Cataracs & Dev called “Like a G6″ has hit number one on iTunes and number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Paul van Haver, better known as Stromae [stromaj]  is a singer-songwriter of Belgian-Rwandan origin. He has distinguished himself in both hip hop and electronic music. He first became famous with the song “Alors on danse” which remained at number one for several weeks in numerous countries throughout Europe.

He was born in Brussels to a Rwandan father, whom he only got to see three times in his life, and a Belgian mother. At the age of eleven Paul van Haver already showed an interest in music and attended ‘l’Académie Musicale de Jette’, where he studied music history and learned to play the drums.

In 2000 he appeared as a rapper called Opmaestro, though he later changed his stage name to Stromae (a syllablic inversion of “Maestro”, a practice called verlan). It was with this name that van Haver became successful.

At the age of 18, he founded a rap group called “Suspicion”, along with rapper “J.E.D.I.” in Eichof. They produced the song and music video “Faut que t’arrête le Rap…”, though later, J.E.D.I. decided to leave the rap duo.

In order to finance his private school education, van Haver worked part-time in the hospitality industry, but his school performance wasn’t up to standard. It was only later, when he registered at l’Institut National de Radioélectricité et Cinématographie, that he released his first album “Juste un cerveau, un flow, un fond et un mic…”.

In 2008 he signed a 4-year record deal with “Because Music” and “Kilomaître”. In 2009 Paul worked a young trainee at the musical radio station NRJ in Brussels. Vincent Verbelen, Music Manager, was impressed by the talent of Stromae’s first single ‘Alors on danse’ and decided to air it for the first time on NRJ. The response from listeners was one of extreme enthusiasm and Stromae’s career was launched. Sales quickly rose to number one in Belgium in just a matter of weeks.

Vertigo Records, a label of Mercury Records France (Universal Music Group) signed him for a worldwide licensing deal soon after this.

By May 2010 the track Alors on danse had reached number one in France, the Netherlands, Greece, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Belgium, Romania and the Czech Republic.

On 2 September, a remix of his hit Alors on danse has been made by Kanye West and himself.

Of his music and its influences he has said : ” I was in a little group doing rap music. I thought that rather than copying the French sound, I’d focus on a more American style but give it a European spin. And then I rediscovered 90s Eurodance. For a long time we were ashamed of that sound but in fact there’s a lot to discover, it has its roots in everything from house to salsa. I also really admire Jacques Brel – he has been a huge influence on me – but also all sorts of other stuff, Cuban son, and the Congolese rumba which I heard as a child; that music rocked the whole of Africa.” The critic Molloy Woodcraft : ” He combines 90s electro synths and beats with a laidback delivery to mesmeric effect.”

Other than “Nothin’ on You”, his debut album features three other singles: “Don’t Let Me Fall” (released April 6, 2010), “Airplanes” (April 13, 2010) and “Bet I” (April 20, 2010). “Airplanes” features vocals from Hayley Williams of Paramore, and “Bet I” features T.I. and Playboy Tre. A video for “Bet I” has been released on Atlantic Videos on YouTube. The album was released April 27, 2010 and was given generally positive reviews. His album sold 84,000 copies in the first week and debuted of #1 on the Billboard 200. It made B.o.B the 13th male solo artist to have a debut album at #1 on its first week. In July, B.o.B announced he will go on tour, naming it The SHOOTiN for Stars Tour. The dates and times were released on his website on July 13. B.o.B has received nominations for his album, singles, and himself by the BET Awards, Teen Choice Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and the new Suckerfree Summit. His “Airplanes” was featured in the trailer for the upcoming movie Charlie St. Cloud and “Magic” also landed him an Adidas commercial with him in it. B.o.B was announced to be a performer at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards on August 18. As of July 2010, B.o.B is the latest artist to star in the new Adidas commercial which features “Magic.”

Lawrence White  is an American rapper, better known as 40 Glocc. He is currently signed to Infamous Record and G-Unit Record.

His manager, Perfect Storm then negotiated a deal with Empire Musicwerks, with distribution by BMG. It was through this deal, he recorded and released his first solo effort, “The Jakal”, which featured such guests as, Bad Azz, Tray Deee, Ras Kass, Kurupt, Mac Minister, Spice 1 and several others; and such producers as Battlecat and Dr. Dre among several others. It was after this album that he decided to part ways with Empire Music.
